- 100% Bugisu Arabica, washed process, grown at 1,600 to 2,200 metres on volcanic slopes.
- Roasted and ground in Kampala in small batches.
- Pre-ground at a medium grind. Dialled in for drip machines, pour-over, and Aeropress. No grinder, no fuss.
What's in the bag
1 kilogram of single-origin Bugisu Arabica, washed and medium roasted, pre-ground for convenience. Same beans as the Tendo whole bean, same roast, just ground at the roastery. Medium grind, suited for drip machines, pour-over cones, and Aeropress. A kilo format for households that go through coffee fast, small offices, or anyone who wants to buy less often.
How it tastes
Jasmine and citrus peel first, right as you open the bag. Brewed, it opens with bright lemon and sweet cane sugar. Medium body, clean. Lively acidity without being sharp. Black tea on the finish, no bitterness. This is what washed Bugisu Arabica tastes like when it is roasted right and ground fresh.
Where it comes from
The Bugisu sub-region sits on the western slopes of Mount Elgon, where volcanic soil and high altitude produce Uganda's best-known Arabica. Nonda buys directly from smallholder farmers here. The washing stations are community-run.
